I've tried them all and I use Capture 1. Above all it gives superior skins tones and I just like the workflow.

What RAW converter do you use and why do you prefer it ?

(Maybe we can jump start this section of the forum.)

Hey KC

As I said in the other forum, Capture1's images are great but after using V3 and V4, I found it too slow at large banks of images so for me I have to go with Aperture. Its pretty much interchangeable with lightroom but without Adobes "buy a new camera, buy the latest version to open the raw files" B*llsh*t!

Cheers

Aperture for me too.

Really liked v1 and 2 but 3 is a bit of a speed nightmare for me on my 2008 Macbook Pro.

It's still usable and I get what I need from it for the weddings I shoot. The whole making previews thing has just got slower and slower which is frustrating sometimes.

Never got on with Lightroom from the first Beta onwards. Too clunky and resource hungry for my liking.

i use capture one for a few reasons,

1st the skin tones as mentioned by k_c_

2nd its industry standard, all my clients know it, all digi techs know it, its pretty much walk in a use software for the fashion industry in the UK and with the addition of capture pilot an AD can take their ipad and go and sit on the other side of the room which stops them from sitting on the digi techs shoulder staring at the monitor,

admittedly it is flawed and crashes far to often for software that has "pro" in its title but on balance I think its best.

Capture One, for sure, for reasons mentioned by others: LR image quality is what lets me down big time.
